Christmas Porch

Happy December!

Can you believe it’s December 5th?!? Twenty more days til’ Christmas! If you are like most people, hearing there’s only 20 more days left might have you frantically in your mind going over what you have left to get done before Christmas. The last year or two I have let myself get stressed out by my to-do lists, gifts to buy and wrap, food to make, Christmas cards, finding time to do all the fun things I want my family to experience this time of year and everything else that goes along with the holiday. But this year I am doing it different. I don’t want to look back on all of my Christmas’s and think about how stressed out I was- I want to look back and remember all of the joyful, magical, happy times that we had as a family. So I am making a list, checking it twice and trying to cross off as much as I can on that list on a day to day basis. I am managing my time better, trying not to spend too much time browsing through Instagram or watching tv. I am NOT procrastinating (a big one for me). And I am just taking things 1 day at a time…. trying to get as much done as I can but still not hustling and bustling too much around. And so far my stress level has been much lower on the ‘Stress Scale’ than previous years.

I wanted to share with you all my Christmas porch. As you know I love big front porches and decorating them for the holidays is my favorite.

I made this wreath for under $10: you can find out how I did that HERE

All those twinkling lights sure make me happy.

I found this old box at a garage sale for a couple dollars. It’s the perfect spot to throw in some greenery, faux snowballs and a fabric candy cane.

The only thing I dislike about Christmas lights- hiding those darn cords. And lights that don’t work… especially after you’ve strung them. That’s the worst.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you all have a great week!
