Cafe Curtains in Kitchen-Adding Charm & Practicality- deVOL Inspired

Hello friends! I hope you all are having a wonderful week!! The last week has been extremely exciting around here because we are finally getting our new windows installed in the front of our home!!! We have wanted to do this project since the day we moved in. In our opinion, the windows were too small and lacked character. But, I digress, I do like all the natural light I can get in my home. I can’t WAIT to show you when they are done! Speaking of windows- when we did our kitchen makeover, we swapped out the small window to a much larger one – you can see that post HERE. (I guess I have a thing for large windows.) Recently, I’ve been obsessed with the show, “deVOL Kitchens”, on the MAGNOLIA network. Anyone else??! Watching the show gave me inspiration and the idea to do cafe curtains in our kitchen. (And travel to England someday.)

Cafe Curtain Rod

One thing I really love about the show, deVOL Kitchens, is that they pay attention to every single, miniscule detail in their designs. I’m talking everything. And it’s inspiring. As well as being inspiring, it has really re-lit my passion for home design. After doing a bunch of searching, I ended up ordering an unlacquered brass cafe curtain rod from Rejuvenation. If you have a smaller window, you could simply do a thin tension rod.

This brass rod was custom cut in their Portland factory and I received it within 2 weeks. (For something custom, I feel like the price is really good-literally the best I could find.) Came packaged beautifully, the product itself is well made, and was very easy to install. Would highly recommend!

Vintage Curtain Clips

Etsy is my go-to when it comes to finding unique decor items. An added bonus is that I’m usually supporting small businesses when purchasing on their site! I found these beautiful vintage cafe curtain clips and they won over my heart. Again- thanks to deVOL- I was focused on every little detail of this area.

Cafe Curtains in Kitchen

I found these curtains on Amazon and they are SO good! The set is under $20! They let in the perfect amount of light when closed, are lightweight and don’t cover up too much of the window (something very important to me). And I think the striped pattern is quite charming.

Heart of the Home

I’m sure you’ve heard the saying, “The kitchen is the heart of the home”. And in our case, that rings true. This kitchen makes me so happy.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

xoxo, Kayla
