Window Seat In Girl’s Bedroom & Sconce Light Hack

I’ve always loved a good window seat; there’s something classic, cozy and charming about them. We recently had new windows installed in the living room and Brielle’s room. They are beautiful and have made SUCH a big difference! Give me ALL the natural light!! Once I knew we were getting new windows, I knew I had to do a window seat for Brielle.

Window Seat

I don’t know why but these images make me want to cry. Well, I actually do know why- because childhood is wonderful. Being a mom is wonderful. Creating a safe, cozy space for my girls is one of the greatest delights in my life- it’s what I was made to do, I feel it in my soul. Not all kids get wonderful childhoods and my heart aches for them. This picture right here encompasses what childhood should look like or at least when I look at it, that’s what I see.

Just like I used 2 console tables to create 1 large one, I used 2 cushions on this bench, which ended up saving me lots of money! Both of these together cost me under $100 and I think my favorite thing about them is they have grippers on the bottom of the cushions which helps them not move around. And because of all the pillows you really can’t tell there is 2 cushions and not just one long one. I am really impressed with the quality! You can go here to purchase them.

Sconce Light Hack

I knew I wanted to add a sconce light to the window seat area to add even more coziness. But number one, I didn’t have access to a plug in, and number two I didn’t want to pay to have something hardwired in. With these brilliant puck lights that screw into an actual light fixture, I knew I could still make it happen!

This light fixture is so adorable and is VERY well made. The glass flower part is very heavy, way better quality than what I anticipated. You can find it here.

The battery operated puck light screws right into the light fixture. My favorite thing about this particular one is the remote that comes with them – there is multiple timers to choose from, ranging from 15 minutes to 120 minutes. You can choose between warm or cool light. And lastly, you can choose to have 50% or 100% brightness.

Emmy loves the window seat as much as Brielle does.
