Brielle’s Bedroom Makeover – Nature/Animal Inspired Girl’s Room

Over the last few years, the girls have slowly transitioned into their own rooms. The older 3 all shared a room for a year or two; not quite sure how we made that work, but we did nonetheless! We turned an office/storage room into Jayde’s bedroom, our guest bedroom into Aubree’s room, and recently I finished Brielle’s room into a space all her own. About a year ago, I created a mood board which you can see here and ever since then I’ve slowly been working on the room. Brielle ADORES any animal (we are not allowed to kill spiders around her) and loves to be outside which is why I chose to do a nature/animal themed room for her. Her room is finally finished and I am so excited to show you all!

Nature/Animal Inspired Bedroom

I love how her room turned out!! I decided to paint it the same color as Aubree’s room, a really pretty blue/green color. These fox decals were very easy to install, literally like big stickers that are removeable.

Last year I found this adorable bird knocker for sale at Anthropologie and knew it’d be perfect as you enter Brielle’s room.

Desk Area

Something Brielle really wanted was a desk in her new room – before this makeover there was simply no space for one. I found this desk on Amazon, you can find it here. This space is pretty tight so finding a desk that would fit was a little challenging. It was also important to me that there was some built in storage. The desk was easy to put together and is very affordable. Works perfect for Brielle!

I added some color with this soft pink, velvet chair on wheels that is adjustable. Fits just right in this little space.

We hung 2 dry erase boards up; again, one of Brielle’s requests. 🙂

I added this old dog drawing I found at an antique store; I love mixing old with new.

Bed Frame

So, I am a tad obsessed with this bed frame which is why we have it in all the 3 younger girl’s bedrooms. Affordable, well made, sturdy, easy to put together and beautiful – I LOVE this bed frame!! I chose the color silver birch for her room; Aubree has the blue color and Emmy has the white. Such a classic, traditional frame that will stay in trend as the years go on.

DIY Window Seat & Bookcase

Recently, I did a blog post all about this window seat, go here to read all about it. Window seats are another item I’m obsessed with and I am so happy we made one happen in her room.

All of these pillows give an extra dose of coziness to this space.

If I could pick what to of done on this wall, a built-in bookcase and desk would’ve been in the plans. But, there is this thing called a budget that always calls for creativity and diy’ing in my world. So, instead of doing built-ins, I put together this bookcase to create the illusion of a built-in. Honestly, I spent HOURS searching for a piece that was in our price range and also the right size. This thing fit like a glove. A pain in the booty to put together and I might’ve said a few cuss words in the process but I am very happy with how it looks! I might add beadboard to the back of it down the road but I’m in no hurry to do that!

Bookcase Styling

Brielle is obsessed with frogs- therefore when I saw this frog in the garden section at Hobby Lobby, I knew I had to have it for her room.

Again, I used thrifted and newer items to decorate the shelves. The shelves give her a lot of storage which is nice! These blue floral storage boxes are so pretty, I might buy a few more for this bookcase in the future.

Nightstands

I found these small side tables for $10 on facebook marketplace; I painted them a cheery yellow color and they work perfect for her nightstands. On both sides I have baskets with lids under the tables; another place for storage!

I love using a pair of poufs at the end of the bed; Brielle uses these all the time for extra seating or when her and her sisters are playing school. These ones are so adorable for a little girl’s room- you can find them here.
