Downstairs Bathroom- One Room Challenge- Week 8: Final Reveal
Here we are at the finish line of the one room challenge and I am SO SO excited to share the finished product with you all!! This is my first time doing the one room challenge and I have to say, 8 weeks definitely has gone by quick- quicker than I’d like! I have followed along with others and am anxiously awaiting their reveals as well- such talented designers! There were a few small things in the bathroom that I did not finish and in the future I have an idea for a ceiling treatment in the downstairs bathroom as well. But even without those projects done, the bathroom is beautiful and I’m so happy with how it turned out!
Before
Lets remind you all of what the bathroom looked like before:
Literally had done nothing to this space in the last 7 years.
After
In this bathroom I wanted to mix rustic and feminine vibes. Hence the feminine wallpaper with the rustic concrete that I smeared all over the walls. I knew I wouldn’t be able to change out the tile or countertops so would have to design around those things. I feel like it all flows nicely together!
I removed the towel rod and replaced it with these 3 hooks. Hooks are more practical than a rod in my opinion! Waffle weave towels give the space a spa vibe.
The bench offers a place to sit down which was important to me to have. Layering a fluffy white rug over it helps cozy the space up. We’ve had this arched mirror in storage for a while now- I love it in this spot!
This bathroom is used by a couple of our daughters and guests when they stay with us. It was important to me that needs were easily accessible; I rolled up bath towels and placed them in this basket under the bench for guests to easily grab. A bowl of washcloths sits on top along with bubble bath.
Sink Area
With a house full of girls I really wanted to incorporate something feminine in here which is why I chose to use this wallpaper. I ended up keeping the cabinets dark but changed out the hardware- the brass pops against the dark and is so pretty.
The purple/blue flowers in the wallpaper tie in to the blue tile and countertops.
This area got a new light fixture, new faucet, mirror, cabinet hardware, along with all new accessories. A diffuser is a must- good smells and vibes!
Here is a close up of the wallpaper and the colors in it.
Bathtub
I would LOVE to fully tile this area someday but again, had to work with what I had! We swapped out the silver hardware for this really pretty brass set. To go with the “spa vibe” I was somewhat going for- I added these labeled bottles.
The shower curtain ties into the wallpaper.
New Door
Before we had a plain jane white door- a sliding door adds SO much more space in here! We had this old door in our garage for a while now and it was the perfect fit for this space. I decided to paint it a cooler grey toned color with some leftover paint that I had.
My hope is that our girls and guests feel comfortable, cozy and maybe even like they stepped foot into a spa when they enter this downstairs bathroom. What do you all think?!?!
