Ladder Shelf Decor In Corner-How To Cozy Up A Large Room

Kayla

The new addition is pretty much completed besides a few random things left to do and I am starting to get a feel for how we want to use the room. I can’t wait to show you all the finished product soon! One item I have been planning on putting in here since the beginning is a puzzle/office table. I am a BIG FAN of puzzles, I love how they bring people together and for me, they are addicting. Go HERE for a round up of the cutest fall puzzles! In one corner of the living room, I set up a table and after living with it a few weeks, I knew I needed some sort of storage piece for this area. A ladder shelf was the perfect solution for this little corner!

I found this ladder shelf from Wayfair and it was just the right size! The shelf was fairly simple to assemble, took me under an hour. It comes with anchors and screws to install it into the wall.

Ladder Shelf Styling

These 2 baskets are from Hobby Lobby- I found them in the fall section and they were very affordable, I think I paid under $15 for both. The baskets hold extra puzzles, my planner and random papers I need to keep on hand. Pencils and pens are displayed in jars. A fluted bowl holds caramels and I found this cute pumpkin print from Etsy.

During the fall and winter, I love to bring out lights- whether it’s in the form of battery-operated candles or string lights. These are my favorite faux candles– look like the real thing! Lights make everything feel so cozy and hygge! Also, I am obsessed with this fall print of these 3 girls in witches’ hats – another Etsy find.

When it comes to styling shelves, I like to mix larger and smaller items together. Different heights is something I also pay attention to; as well as making sure the colors all coincide with one another.

Creating a Cozy Space in a Large Room

On one of my favorite shows, Capturing Home, I heard one of the designers say something about how creating little pockets of moments in larger spaces helps create a more cozy, inviting space. Here is an example of just that!

I love how this space turned out!
