End of June Memories
Hello friends! Happy July 1st!! I feel like I am finally in the groove of summer- it always takes me a while to get used to the new norm. Brielle played her last softball game last week and Jayde has her last softball tournament this weekend. After that, we are activity free for the rest of the month, which I am ready for! They are continuing to make progress on the back addition- go here for the latest update- I owe you guys a new one soon! Here are some of my highlights from last week:
Peach Cobbler
Peach cobbler, a highlight? Yes. Food is life. I would die without it…. literally. With the girls home, the food has been FLYING off my shelves and fridge. I wanted to make a dessert the other night and chocolate is always my go to but we had no chocolate chips (a person or two might like to snack on these occasionally- Matt & Jayde). 🙂 I had some peaches I needed to use, so tried a new to me, peach cobbler recipe. I served it with vanilla ice cream and it was SO good! I LOVE when I try a new recipe and it actually turns out good, because that’s not the case all the time. Brielle helped me make it!
Go here for the recipe I used, the only thing I found is I had to bake it 10-15 minutes longer than it called for. Brielle helped me make all of supper that night; I try to let one of the girls help me when I make a home cooked meal. It works better when it’s one on one and the 3 younger girls always look forward to helping me.
Sister Day
Saturday was sister day in Nebraska! Kelcie may or may not be photoshopped in this photo, lol. We missed her!! It was such a fun day full of shopping, eating, more shopping and Starbucks. We try to get together once a year or so without any kids or husbands; it’s always hard to find a time but whoever can make it comes and we have a fabulous time! And if you don’t make it, we still photo shop you in anyways!
My favorite part of sister day was going to this beautiful park and sipping my Starbucks. Sidenote: I tried a new drink, green tea peach lemonade, and it was delicious. Will definitely be ordering that again! This park was so peaceful and inspiring. I basically want our backyard to look like this, not too much to ask, right?!
Inside Out Two
Photo quality not great but after church on Sunday we went to Inside Out Two. We all thought it was so good! I think Matt and I may of even enjoyed it more than some of the girls, lol. I laughed and cried. SO relatable if you are parenting teens/pre-teens. Highly recommend!
Little Girls
This morning, Brielle, Emersyn and Bostyn (Brielle’s friend) played outside with pajamas still on, messy hair and sticky fingers from a french toast breakfast. I snapped a few pictures because it makes me happy and I know these years aren’t forever.
