Lulu and Georgia Bird Wallpaper-A DIY Dupe For 1/4 Of The Price

Kayla

I literally just a few posts ago talked about how I was done with the entryway- decor wise that is- and this morning I changed it up once again. LOL. That is just me and always will be. When I applied a wallpaper to the drawers of the old dresser in our entry, I really did love it. But after living with it for some time, I ‘ve realized for me personally it was looking too busy and I was wanting something more neutral. Especially during the different seasons- I want to be able to add whatever colors I want- so this reaffirmed my like for neutral larger pieces of furniture. Go here to see the before.

After seeing this wallpaper I knew it was the perfect fit for our dresser drawers in our entry and would be something neutral enough that I could keep for a very long time. I was a little taken aback when I saw the wallpaper was $178 for a roll, not including tax and shipping. Yikes a spikes. I mean- I LOVE decor- and am a true believer some certain special items are worth the cost- but I did not want to spend $200 on this. While lying in bed, I searched for a dupe, but could find nothing like it. And then lightbulb moment- maybe I could stencil birds on myself?!

I first did a few practice runs on a napkin-instantly knew this was going to be a success!

What do you think?!?! Pretty close, right?! I have a reel on Instagram (give me a follow!) showing my technique.

Stenciling is my new favorite way to diy something- check out my porch floor I did using a stencil- HUGE transformation!! Such an inexpensive way to change up the look of something.

I tried to match the colors as closely as possible- I chose a brownish color and mixed it with some gold- came out perfect! And for the dots at the end of each bird, I just used the end of a small paint brush to make them.

Our new puppy, Marley, posing for a picture. You can read about him here.

Makes me so happy when I can find an inexpensive way to do something that turns out good and share it with you all! Let me know what you think?!
