My favorite kind of projects are those that are in

My favorite kind of projects are those that are inexpensive and still beautiful.
We went many years with no extra money for home projects or decor for that matter. Those days I frequented garage sales and would paint something to give it a new look for our home. I believe that’s where my love for design and thrifting started.

This faux brick technique is SO affordable and SO good. I have this all throughout our kitchen, in our laundry room as a back splash and in our bedroom above our faux fireplace.
And it’s something anyone can do- the taping is a little tedious and there is math involved- but trust me- if I can do it, so can you! Matt basically tutored me in math during college🤪

Some still photos of my new nightstand! Found this at a local antique store while I was killing time in-between driving kids around.
I’ve been wanting something with more storage- I have all the books, journals, etc. and what I had before wasn’t cutting it.
This is a piece that I’ll keep forever and can pass down to my girls someday. 🤍

Matt’s ocd is really bothering him that we don’t have the same nightstands anymore… I knew it would!🤪😄😬 If I ever come across another one of these, I might have to snag it up for his side!

Vintage inspired fridge magnets.
Using Sahara gold metallic paint & European gold rub n buff- I gave these cheap brass looking frames more of a muted gold, antique look. I printed out black and white prints from my printer at home, and cut them to size. Hot glue is what I used to attach the pictures and magnets. Instant antique cuteness!!

**Affordable Closet Makeover**

I would of course, LOVE a custom build closet but that was not going to happen for me anytime soon. So I took matters into my own hands and I love it so much!!

3 large shelves from @walmart - these were honestly the easiest things to put together and for all 3, it only cost me right around $100.

The minute I saw this wallpaper I fell in love with it. Purchased it when I saw it on sale @anthropologiehome
This was my splurge area- I knew it would make a big, beautiful impact.

Tension rods in the corner added another area to hang clothes.

Leftover paint was used on the ceiling.

This antique light fixture was $75 at a local antique store- it’s beautiful and is the focal point in this area.

Remote control puck lights (best ones I’ve found) add instant light to my shelves- comes with a remote and can set the lights to go off in a certain increment of time.

I searched and searched and searched…. And searched some more until I found them. The PERFECT faux spring branches. While perusing design books, I started to notice how in every beautiful kitchen picture, a large vase of stems would be perched on the counter. I wish I had a plethora of beautiful stems in my backyard, but here in central Kansas, in February you won’t find that. These stems are gorgeous and I love how realistic these look. I am OVER faux flowers and stems that look fake. Not here for it anymore.
