Tablecloth Covered Bench in Dining room – Easy DIY
Hello friends! I am currently eating leftover Pizza Hut while trying to figure out how to type with my new press on nails that are very long and making it very difficult to type. I have mixed feelings about these press on nails – I really do LOVE the way they look. But they make living my everyday life, much tougher. Hence, trying to simply type a blog post with them. My natural nails are ruined from the press on nails which makes me want to continue to glue the nails on but it’s really just a vicious cycle with no end in sight. Info you now have but didn’t care to have. 🙂
Enough about nails- lets talk about the tablecloth I used to cover our dining room bench. After wallpapering and adding our IKEA billy bookcases to the dining room, I then wanted a new bench. The grey fabric wasn’t doing it for me anymore. After lots of searching, I came up with nothing to replace it. A few months ago, I tried using a sheet to cover it but didn’t love the look/feel of the fabric. In Target, I saw the tablecloths and thought that might just work!
Tablecloth Upholstered Bench

I absolutely love the look of this! I have many pink accents throughout our home so this ties in nicely with it all. The fabric is much thicker than the bed-sheet which creates a better look, in my opinion.
How To

I suggest ironing or steaming your cloth before you attach it to the bench.
Once you lay it out the way you want it, use a staple gun to attach it to the back of the bench. I made sure to pull the fabric very taut.

On the sides of the bench, I made a small slit that is covered by the bookcases and used liquid stitch to create a seam on the corners.

I absolutely LOVE affordable, diy’s like this. For many years, Matt and I didn’t have a lot of extra spending money so if I wanted something changed in the house- it had to be very affordable and me doing it. This is one of those types of projects – anyone could do this!
