Garage Entry Makeover

Kayla

Hello! Last week my mom and dad took my girls for the week which meant lots of cleaning, organizing and some projects for me! I literally took a carful of items to donate and Matt took a load to the dump. I went through school papers, decor, clothes, etc. It felt SO good getting rid of stuff we don’t need or use! One of the projects I worked on was the garage entry. My plan was to re-paint the door, which badly needed done. But one thing lead to another, and then another, and another after that and before I knew it, I was wallpapering walls and cutting up rugs! Wallpaper in the garage? Yes. Matt thinks it might be a little overboard but I LOVE it!

These hooks have been falling off the wall for years.

So, first thing I did was repaint the door, trim and steps. I’ve been saving this owl door knocker for quite some time with plans to add it to this door. I think it’s so cute and it’s on major sale over at Anthropologie!

I took down the old hooks and realized the walls were so dirty. I didn’t want to repaint the area and remembered I had some leftover stick and peel wallpaper leftover from another project. I had just enough to cover this little area!

I love a good peg rail and found these 2 boards at Walmart for right around $30. They were very easy to install and will NOT be falling down anytime soon! You can find similar ones here.

After the black paint on the stairs dried, I stepped on them and realized every single little piece of dust would show up and I was not a fan of that. I eyed an old rug that had been lying in our garage for months, cut it in half and stapled it to the steps. Problem solved!

It’s by no means perfect but better than before.

I added this bench from our laundry room- it now holds shoes and is a place to sit to put on shoes.

So, perfect? No. Better than before? Yes! I am really happy with how it turned out!

When I was pregnant with my 3rd daughter, Brielle, I first noticed melasma on my face. And ever since it has been something I’ve battled. I’ve tried LOTS of different skincare products over the years to get rid of it but nothing has worked. I do have sensitive skin so I’m limited to what I […]
