Ruggable Rug Review (UPDATED!!!)

Kayla

SCROLL DOWN TO END OF POST FOR UPDATE

For a while now I have been seeing ruggable rug ads coming up on my Instagram feed. I was always intrigued because the thought of being able to throw a rug into the washer whenever I wanted was tempting with 4 kids and 2 dogs running around. You heard me right, you can wash this rug in a washer! So when the time came to purchase a new rug for under our dining room table, my first thought was a ruggable rug. Below you can find my ruggable rug review, hopefully it answers any questions you have!

I was quite impressed with all of the options on their site! I ended up going with the Leelu Black and White Rug .NEVER would I think that a white rug under my dining room table would even be an option but knowing I could wash it was a game changer. A 6 x 9 rug is the biggest I can fit in this space because of the way the room is shaped; in a perfect world I would go with an 8 x 10 but that just wouldn’t work in here.

Dining Rug Tip

When you pull out your chairs from the table, ideally they should still be on the rug. A lot of times people can get too small of a rug for the dining room. If you have the space keep that rule in mind!

Each rug is made to order so it did take a couple weeks to receive mine.

I received a rug pad which is pictured down below. This helps your rug stick to it and gives it some nice padding. I believe they have different options of pads you can buy.

Simply roll your rug out, onto the pad, and you are done!

Obsessed! This rug is so gorgeous! It looked just like the pictures online which I appreciate. Ever get something that looks completely different than what you thought you were getting?? That can be pretty annoying!

Review on Ruggable Rug

You all…… literally I had not even had this rug down for a whole 24 hours when I managed to grab a green smoothie out of my fridge and spill the entire thing ALL OVER THE RUG. I guess I should’ve been more worried about myself than my girls, dogs and husband! 😛

I quickly grabbed a rag and some dish soap and you guys… all of it came out SO easily. I was shocked. I thought I would have to throw it in the washer to get the stains out but never had to.

Since then, countless things have been spilt on this thing. Spaghetti sauce, orange juice, mud from the dogs, applesauce, yogurt, etc. #lifewithkidsand2dogs

Everything has came out with a rag and dish soap. It’s quite amazing.

Overall thoughts? I LOVE this rug. The fact that I have been able to use dish soap and get every stain out is quite impressive. Also, rugs can get pretty grimy, pretty easily. So knowing I can throw this in the washer every few months makes me happy. It is a little bit more on the pricey side but I really do think it is worth every penny. The rug pad we received with the rug does not give a ton of cushion. If you were going to put this in a living room or something like that, I would suggest getting a thicker pad.

Being able to have a more neutral rug for this space is really great and I really appreciate the fact that I don’t have to worry about stains. That in itself makes it worth the buy!

UPDATE

So initially I LOVED my ruggable rug! Super cute, good quality and I loved that I could wash it in my washer. Unfortunately after many months my rug started coming up on the sides and no matter what I did, would not lay flat. The bottom pad that the rug sticks to is a smidge smaller than the actual rug so the ends did not have anything to grab onto. I tried washing the rug, re-positioning it, etc. and nothing worked. It eventually drove me crazy so I removed it from our dining room.

This is just MY experience. It’s a lot of money to spend on a rug so I wanted to be sure to update you all. I don’t think I’ll be buying another ruggable rug for that reason.
