Addition onto the Back of our House: Update 4

Kayla

Hello!! We just got back from an 8 day vacation in beautiful Colorado- our family’s vacays overlapped which worked out for us! We split up our time between the two and had so much fun! Swimming, rafting, horseback riding, jeeping, hiking, and lots of eating was all done. I was SO excited to see what they had all gotten done on our back addition while we were gone. Thought I would update you all as well!

The ceiling could make me cry. It’s exactly what I envisioned for the space and really just makes the whole room. It still needs to be painted but is gorgeous even without the paint.

The French doors were installed while we were gone, they are beautiful! I am slightly obsessed with transom windows so had to have them above this french door as well as all the windows in here. The other day I picked out hardware for the door so hopefully that will come soon.

Here is the opening into our dining room area; this used to be where our sliding glass door was. They made the opening taller and I will do my faux brick around it to match the dining room wall.

At first I didn’t think we needed a fireplace in this room because we have one in our other living room but Matt was actually the one who wanted one. I am SO glad he did because this fireplace is so perfect. I didn’t want it to take up a lot of room and we will have a frame tv on it so I knew I wouldn’t be really decorating the mantle much. I can just picture the fire on in here, on a cold snowy day and it just makes me so happy!

I ended up picking out beautiful rustic wood floors for this space that would match our other wood floors pretty well but they were 6-8 weeks backordered. We definitely did not want to prolong construction anymore so ended up going with a different kind but in the same line as the other one. I can’t wait to see them in here!

Things are moving along and I am getting more excited by the day for this space to be finished. I picture our family hanging out in here all the time and I can’t wait to have a cozy, comfortable space with enough room for everyone!
