Bathroom Medicine Cabinet Makeover using Floral Wallpaper & Paint

Kayla

The master bathroom is where I spend a lot of my time but has also been one of the most neglected parts of our home. In the last 8 years I haven’t done much to it. That is, until the last few months! I decided it was finally time to take this space and transform it into something a little more spa like, a little more bright, and an area that I would WANT to spend time in. Today I am going to share a small section of our master bathroom that is completed and I am so excited!

Dark and dingy is what words come to mind when I look at these pictures. I hung this shelf up years ago and random items got placed on it- not very pretty.

Cabinet Makeover

First, lets talk about this cabinet I found at a local thrift store for $15!

When I saw this in the store I knew it was a great find and would be perfect above our bathroom toilet. Cute medicine cabinets that I found on-line were hundreds of dollars and I was working on a budget for this bathroom so those were out of the question.

Steps For Painting Cabinet:
Clean with soap and water and let dry.
Paint. (I recently discovered a new paint (to me), that allows you to paint wood without sanding or priming. Game Changer.
Lightly sand between coats.
Cut out stick and peel wallpaper to place on the backside. Trim off excess using a razorblade.
Seal with a wax.

Can you even?!?! What a difference, right?!

Before, we had all of our medicine in our large cabinet in the bathroom. Because the cabinet is so deep, medicines and items would get lost very easily; I could never find a good way to organize everything. This cabinet is the perfect solution! It’s big enough to fit everything, is easily accessible and is quite pretty to look at. It doesn’t bother me that you can see all of the items in the cabinet, but if it did, I would use the same stuff I used on our bathroom door glass downstairs.

While the cabinet is beautiful in itself, I can’t get over how the wallpaper completely transformed this space. When Aubree saw it for the first time she said, “Wow, this reminds me of a fancy restaurant bathroom.” Success.

You can purchase the wallpaper HERE. I used the blue color but black is also available. Right now it’s almost 50% off!!

I can’t wait to show you all the rest of the bathroom soon!! It is almost completed! Thanks for stopping by!

xoxo Kayla
