Diy Copper Glitter Gift Tags

Kayla

I don’t know what it is about this holiday season but I am all about crafting! Reminds me of when I first started blogging years and years ago (just for fun) and I did a ton of diy stuff. To see my copper and green Christmas ornaments I just made go HERE. At that time it was more so because we couldn’t afford much so I had to craft things, couldn’t just go out and buy them. I am enjoying creating rather than just purchasing and want to continue that trend as time goes on. This year my Christmas colors are copper and green- go HERE to see my design plan. While shopping I couldn’t find any copper glitter gift tags so I decided to make my own!

Question: When do you prefer to craft? For me, especially during this time of year, I love to do little projects like this one after the girls go to bed. The glow of the Christmas lights, a cup of tea or hot chocolate, the quiet (besides a Hallmark Christmas movie playing in the background) and knowing I more than likely wont be interrupted makes it the ideal time for me. Yes, I do stay up a little too late on nights like these but it’s worth it!

Supplies

  • Paper Tags
  • Wood Tags
  • Glitter of your choice
  • Mod Podge
  • Little paintbrush
  • Parchment paper (some type of paper you can toss after you’re done)

I found all of my supplies at Hobby Lobby – wooden stars, paper tags and two different types of glitter.

This is such an easy diy. I started out by using my paintbrush to apply a thin layer of mod podge to one side of my cut outs, poured my glitter on and then shook off the excess. After numerous ones like this, I then started making little designs. Polka dots, lines, etc.

I think one of my favorite designs is the polka dot circle tags- looks like an ornament!

A thought I had- this would be fun to do with a group of craft loving friends and to make a night out of it. Get some wine or make this yummy holiday punch. Put out some appetizers, play some Christmas music (Michael Buble’ anyone?!) and create a tag crafting station.

I have not had a chance to wrap any presents yet but will show you all what these look like when they are performing their purpose. Also, continuing to work on decorating our house for Christmas. I plan on finishing things up this coming weekend. And I must say, this is my favorite Christmas decor I’ve ever done! Can’t wait to show you all! Have a few more diy projects planned in the weeks ahead so stay tuned- something for our front door and a fun gift to give.

Thanks for stopping by!

xoxo Kayla
