DIY Faux Birch Logs For Christmas
Happy Thanksgiving week! I can’t believe we are almost to December! This last weekend I worked on going through all of the girl’s toys and donating/tossing any that they no longer use. I always try to do this before Christmas to make room for more stuff that I know they will be getting. Always feels good to de-clutter! We also worked on decorating the house and porch for Christmas. I wanted to share a little diy project I did that cost me nothing. I’ve always loved the look of birch logs so decided to create my own for Christmas!

Supplies
- sticks
- white paint
- paint brush
- sand paper
- some type of tool to cut the sticks
On a recent date night, Matt and me went on a walk and found all of these sticks. Maybe doesn’t sound like much fun but it was actually very peaceful and Matt was a good sport. We enjoy being active on date nights; tennis, golf, basketball, walks finding sticks, etc. I used a saw to cut all of these down so they would look more like birch logs.

Next step is to paint them white except for the ends and then lightly sand them with sand paper.

I placed some in a basket that I hung on our front door using a command hook and then added some fresh pine.

Jayde worked on the chalkboard I made for our porch, you can see that diy here. I enjoy having the chalkboard out here; it’s fun changing it up for the different seasons!

Just like I did for fall (click here to see), I used a tote and placed some more logs and pine in it. You can buy a set of 3 here.

Our Christmas porch is definitely a little more simple this year but that’s ok with me! Thanks for stopping by!
