Laundry Room Refresh – Stick & Peel Everything, Everywhere!

Kayla

Hello friends! It is a foggy, foggy morning over here in the middle of Kansas. I can’t really complain though, because this week’s weather has been magnificent. Sunny days, clear skies, and a high of 60. Pretty darn perfect. Another thing that is pretty darn perfect, is our laundry room. Over the last couple months I have been making little changes, here and there, and I am finally ready to show you the finished product! Stick and peel everything, everywhere. A new gallery wall. Some beautiful new accessories I splurged on with my Christmas cash. Grab a coffee, a seat and let me show you what I have been up to!

stick and peel wood ceiling

First things first, this wood ceiling. But is it really wood? No one knows. And that is what is so magical about it. I purchased multiple boxes of these luxury vinyl stick and peel flooring off of Amazon. The color is GORGEOUS- a really pretty light, honey color. I see more and more people paying attention to their ceilings in their homes- think of the ceiling as the icing on the cake.

These thin boards are SO easy to work with. I literally used a pair of fabric scissors to cut them to fit. After peeling off the paper on the back of the board, I stuck it up. That is it. Until it wasn’t it. The next few days, I had boards falling off the ceiling every hour or so. Because of gravity, the boards did not stick that great to the ceiling. And that’s where my nail gun came in to play. Took me under an hour to nail the boards into the ceiling; I didn’t have to worry about hitting studs because the boards are so light.

If it bothers you to see little nail holes in your boards, you can always fill them with wood putty and try to match the stain. But for me, I like a more rustic look anyways, so the nail holes just add character in my opinion. This “wood” ceiling is so gorgeous in my opinion and was so easy to install that I am already thinking about the next room I can add these boards to.

stick and peel countertop

I have painted this plywood countertop many times over the years but have really dreamed of a butcherblock countertop in this space. Because I was sans a Chip Gaines and didn’t really want to pay for one, I decided to add my vinyl luxury stick and peel boards to the counter.

Instant look of a butcherblock countertop. Maybe not instant but honestly this probably took me less than 20 minutes to install. And bonus- no glue or nail guns needed. Gravity works for us in this instance.

I have spilt multiple things on this counter and I have had no issues of anything staining. SO SO SO Good!

stick and peel floor

For years now, I have consistently thought about covering up our tile with stick and peel flooring. But I always questioned if it was dumb to cover up real nice tile with fake ones. Well, after doing the ceiling and the countertop, I knew I needed to just give it a try. I could envision what a patterned floor would look like and I knew it would be good.

You guys. Can you even. I mean, I just think it’s so good.

I purchased these stick and peel tiles off Amazon and I was amazed at how easy these were to install. For this room, I used exactly 4 packs, so right around $80. Like the wood planks, these were very easy to cut with scissors.

TIP: My biggest tip for installing these is to make sure your floors are VERY clean. Get every crumb, every little piece of dust off of the floor before installing.

These tiles are SO easy to clean up, our dogs have tracked in mud multiple times now and it just comes right off. No stains, no nothing.

gallery wall

This gallery wall is filled with artwork I love. I really wanted to add some brighter colors into this space since the walls are painted so dark.

Most of the art is from Etsy but some are prints I’ve had for a long time and the flowers at the top were from the other day when I was painting with Emmy. I am no Picasso but I do love creating.

new accessories

Like I stated earlier, I really wanted to add some more color into this space. This lamp was a splurge for me BUT I adore it SO SO much and I think it was totally worth it. SO well made and so unique.

How gorgeous is this basket?! Another splurge item from Greenrow. The colors are just so good and it’s so large.

This pipe smoking man is one of my favorite pieces of artwork I’ve come across. He came all the way from Serbia.

I wanted a new essential oil bottle holder and came across this one, surprise surprise, from Amazon. But you guys, it’s truly wonderful. My favorite thing about it is the size and the individual oil holders. No bottles are going to get knocked off of it.

bench & hooks

Years ago, I installed these hooks and they house the girls’ book bags and coats most of the time.

All the texture on this bench adds a lot of interest, which I like. It all gives the girls a place to sit down and put on shoes. The 2 baskets are filled with gloves & hats for winter.

This space brings me so much joy and I’m a true believer in making every single little space in your home, an area that you love to be in. I love that nowadays there are so many different ways to add beauty to your home, without breaking the bank or a finger trying to use power tools that you don’t maybe quite know how to use. (Speaking from experience.)
