Moody Fall Decor – Open Shelves Living Room
Well, I have begun. Decorating for fall, that is! To see last year’s look go HERE. Gosh, I love fall. And yes, while it’s not technically that time of the season yet…. school starting always signals the end of summer and beginning of fall in my world. This week I’ve been slowly adding in fall touches here and there. I did a mood board a few weeks ago which helps me to keep a certain look in mind. Moody fall decor has been calling my name and was my focus when decorating our open shelves in the living room. By switching out some art prints, adding some dried leaves, faux candles and cozy textures- my living room is ready for the new season. Come take a look!
before
This was how I had our open shelves decorated for summer.
after- moody fall decor
Someday I will have a frame tv (goals) but for now just ignore the huge black tv (totally ruins the vibe)!
fall artwork
One of the things I do is switch out my artwork for the different seasons. I am OBSESSED with this fox drawing! My favorite way to find new art is to search on Etsy, buy a downloadable file, and print the prints off at Walgreens. The owl print is also one of my favorites. You can find the set here. (Right now it’s 40% off!)
fall lighting
Fall is the cozy season in my eyes and what is more cozy than flickering, twinkling lights? These faux candlesticks are SO good and come with a remote and timer. I use museum wax to hold them in place.
Another favorite item of mine that I have all over our home, are these faux flickering candles. Instantly cozies up any space!
cozy textures
During the cooler seasons I focus on adding lots of texture. The knit pillow, cozy throw blanket, and the baskets all add great texture.
Thanks for stopping by!
