Spring Porch Moodboard

Kayla

Spring is less than a month away!! Hopefully mother nature agrees. Over the years I have done lots of different projects to our porch- I stenciled our sidewalk, painted our concrete porch, as well as made a huge chalkboard. I’ve changed decor here and there and this last fall I bought a ton of terracotta pots and aged them using salt- go here for that post. I fell in love with the terracotta pots against the navy blue of our home and want to continue using them throughout the different seasons!

Last week I was brainstorming ideas for the front of our home. I always like to do a project or two to help the curb appeal of our home once the nice weather hits. I thought I would share my spring mood board with you all and let you know what plans I have this spring!

Spring Moodboard

Our house is navy blue- I would love someday to paint it a little bit of a darker color- but that will be later rather than sooner. I wanted to bring my love for texture and decor out to our porch without spending a lot of money. The biggest change I plan on making is stenciling our porch floor with the quilt pattern pictured above. Stenciling is not hard, just a little time consuming. I would really love to lay a chevron brick pattern on our porch floor but that’s a project that will again have to wait. The stencil cost me less than $30 and I already have porch paint on hand. Can’t wait to see how this turns out!!

Right now I have an old light fixture that I spray painted next to our front door that doesn’t actually work. I found these black sconces for around $15 each and am planning on putting them on each side of our front door. The magic light puck trick will come in handy for these guys. Someday I’ll want to get some lights hardwired in- again- another project that will have to wait!

The steps will also be getting a makeover. I really like the stair runner look but want to add some texture. The bottom 1/4 of our house is brick- I did a german schmear technique to it years ago and want to try something a little different with the porch steps and my faux brick I create using joint compound. We shall see if this works!

I linked everything I could for you below! Can’t wait to get started on the porch!
