Spring/Summer Front Porch Design with Terracotta Pots
Today, I wanted to share our front porch with you all! The front porch is one of my favorite spots in our home to decorate- last year I did this stenciled tile and it really transformed the porch for the better. This year I wanted to do a similar look to last years- terracotta pots, white flowers and I did buy a new porch mat. Go here to see how I easily aged our terracotta pots. Our windows that just got put in also elevate the porch- SO much prettier than what was there before. Sit back, grab a mug of coffee, a glass of lemonade or wine perhaps- and WELCOME to our front porch!
Front Porch Design
Lets remind you guys of what this looked like at the beginning of spring last year:
Emersyn helped me water all of the white geraniums and petunias I planted in these terracotta pots. I went to 4 different places here in town one afternoon to find all of these! I was determined!
This girl ADORES being outside which makes me so happy. She has quite the imagination – somedays she is running away from pirates, others she is a witch in a magical forest, and sometimes her home is the tree house and she pretends she is an orphan. On those days she comes in and says, “Are you my new mom? Can I stay here forever?” (Never want to forget that about her.)
Emersyn typically always picks out her own outfit every morning; and you can usually find her in a dress most days. The more flowy the better.
New Windows on Front Porch
These windows make me so happy!!! Like REALLY happy! We’ve envisioned windows like this here for the last 8 years- and were finally able to make them a reality a month ago or so.
I made this chalkboard years ago and it still hangs here on the porch- go here for the diy. Every season I change it up with something different. This season I did a simple “welcome” message.
These rockers are from Grandinroad are really good quality. They are named the Nantucket Rockers and I really like the classic look to them.
Layered Porch Mat
Last year I found this outdoor blue rug on clearance at Anthropologie. It’s so pretty and can be easily washed in the washer machine; so I decided to use it again this year. This “Happy Home” rug mat is from Target; you can buy it here.
Whenever I walk through the front door I always look down at the “Happy Home” and am reminded that that is what I desire our home to be. Happy. Helps me to remember to choose joy.
Look at that cute little smile! I’ve done pictures with Emmy since she was a baby here on the front porch for all the different seasons. I love that I have a place for all these memories- one of the many reasons I love to blog.
