Weekend in Lawrence

Kayla

Happy Monday everyone! The sun is shining and it’s supposed to be a high of 60 here!! Whoop whoop! I am so glad the sun is out; my windows are open this morning and there is a tiny hint of spring in the air which makes me happy. Last week, Matt surprised me with a weekend trip away, just me and him! It had been a while since we were able to sneak away somewhere together and it was just what we needed. We went up to Lawrence on Friday and on the way there, stopped at a cute little town, Abilene. Matt was a trooper and let me do a little bit of antique shopping there.

Once we got to Lawrence we went to The Jungle House, the cutest little plant shop. It’s tucked inside a residential area and we weren’t too sure about it when we pulled up. But like a lot of things in life, looks can be deceiving. It was seriously SO cool and they had a plethora of indoor plants. I wish I would’ve taken some pics, but if you are a plant lover like me, you NEED to go there if you are ever in town. Later in this post I’ll show you which ones we bought!

Saturday we went to the KU basketball game! ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK! Matt has turned me into a KU basketball fan for life and once you go to a game (pre-covid anyways), you will probably be a fan for life too. The atmosphere is amazing!! It was different this time around, masks had to be worn the whole time and not as many people BUT it was still SO much fun! And KU played a good game and won!

Saturday evening we strolled Mass street, had a nice dinner, did a little bit more shopping and Sunday we made our way home after breakfast at Milton’s Cafe. Atmosphere is really cute and the food was really good. Not a lot of seating but luckily we got right in!

It’s amazing what a weekend away can do for your soul. The last few months Matt and I have felt drained and this really did refresh both of us. Thankful for a husband who puts together a trip like this!

Finds in Lawrence

Here are the 3 cutie plants we bought at the Jungle House; bringing plants into your home, especially before Spring, can help liven up your space! Go here for my printable Spring cleaning checklist.

Target Finds

Target is always on my to go place anytime we are around one. I picked up this Joanna Gaine’s Homebody book which I styled on my built-ins.

Instead of scrolling on my phone, I am planning on scrolling through this book this week.

I desperately needed a new cutting board so picked up this one for $20.

I quickly scanned the clothing section in Target and this Universal Thread dress caught my eye. I can’t find it online for you as of right now but it is SO cute!

Really comfortable and flowy, I paired it with a jean jacket and flats. Super cute for spring!

This rug is my last Target find, super soft and affordable.

Other random finds

I found this coffee mug at Urban Outfitters.

Our master bedroom is a work in progress. I ordered a dresser back in October that I am still waiting on. Yikes. A few months ago I had ordered nightstands off Amazon and they ended up sending us the wrong ones. We did not know that til’ after Matt had surprised me and put them together for me one night. We did get refunded but the ones I originally wanted/ordered have been out of stock. We saw these tables at a little shop in Abilene and got them half off, $75 each! A great deal and I love them so much as nightstands in here!

This week I am going to start my spring cleaning!! Can’t wait to start refreshing & organizing our home! Have a great Monday friends!
