christmas-swag

It is officially December! Woohoo! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and were able to spend it with some family. This week I am finishing up my Christmas decorations. Typically, at this time of the year, I would be done, but our built-ins just got finished up last week so I wasn’t able to decorate that area. That is, until today, when I worked on my Christmas garland on my mantle!

I am already LOVING not having a huge tv above our fireplace! We have always had a tv above our fireplace, in our last home and our current one. When designing the built-ins next to the fireplace, I wanted to make sure we could fit the tv over in that space. To be honest, I was a little nervous about how it would work out but it worked out just like I imagined! Can’t want to show you that space soon, still working on decorating it.

Here is my Christmas mantle from a few years ago. The tv being gone makes such a big difference!

Cute Finds

I like mixing real garland with faux. Last year, I used real cedar garland for the first time and it’s just so pretty, I think I will be using it every year from now on. I picked up this 15 foot garland for $15 at Home Depot. Go here for a similar option to my faux garland.

How adorable are these tree snow globe lights?! These are battery operated which makes them perfect for a mantle if you don’t have any access to an outlet. I will mention too, they are on a timer, which is a MUST for me. (I always forget to turn them off otherwise.)

These are seriously the cutest lights I’ve ever seen. Snow and Christmas trees inside……all the heart eyes inserted here. You can purchase them HERE.

I was able to snag the last 2 of these cone trees at Hobby Lobby the other night. It’s a little crazy to me that they had all of their Christmas decorations condensed already and were out of SO much stuff before December 1st.

How To Attach Christmas Garland on Mantle

Longer nails and command hooks are my best friends when putting up the garland on my mantle. I usually use command hooks on the ends and put in the longer nails in little cracks of the wood. Our mantle is more rustic so I have spots I can easily stick a nail down into.

Christmas Garland

This year I swagged the garland to one side of the mantle. I wanted to accentuate the swag so added some bells and the lights to this side.

Can’t wait to cozy up in this space and watch the CMA Christmas we recorded last night; something we always look forward to watching every year.

Thanks for stopping by!

xoxo Kayla
