Narrow Bench in Mudroom & New Fall Jacket & Boots

Hello friends! The last week or two we have been getting all of the beginning of school stuff done. The girls start next week and while I can’t believe it’s already that time of year, I always find it an exciting time. I have a middle schooler (which is impossible) and 2 in elementary. Emmy will still be home with me, which I am making a point to cherish. As the beginning of school draws near, my girls are getting more and more excited. While fun in the sun and no schedules is always nice for a period of time; I always enjoy getting into a routine when school starts. What about you?!

With school starting, I started thinking about our “drop zone” area for the girls. Our laundry room has gone through a couple different looks. This was our laundry room a few years ago. I was still trying to figure out my style at this point and as my girls got older realized I needed to transform this space into more of a mudroom type area.

And this is what it looked like last week. A year or two ago, I re-designed this area into a space where the girls could hang their book bags and coats up when they came home from school but still felt like it was missing a little something.

I really wanted a bench in this space, an area that the girls could sit down and put their shoes on, put gloves on, etc. My biggest problem was, I did not have much space to work with when picking out a bench for our laundry/mud room. After searching and searching, I kept coming back to this bench from Target and decided to buy it. I couldn’t find anything quite as narrow. It was very easy to put together, took me under 10 minutes and is very well made.

We have book bags ready to go! I will say the bench is a little higher than I’d like but I knew that when I bought it. Overall though, it will work great. The basket is there for the girls to throw shoes in or whatever else they decide to.

Today, I couldn’t help myself and put out a few teeny weeny, itty bitty fall touches.

New Fall Jacket & Boots

It always seems fall gets here and I’m half way through the season and can’t find any fall boots or clothes that I want. This year, I want to be more prepared and wanted to share a few items that I recently found.

This jacket was on sale for $8 at Old Navy last week and I snagged it up. I can’t find it on-line but this one is very similar. Check out my little sidekick, Emmy! 🙂

Fall clothing is my favorite. I snagged these boots on sale for under $40 (more than half off!) and they are super cute and comfortable. You can buy them here.
