Scent Booster Essential Oil Combos

Laundry, laundry, laundry. Always laundry. For the rest of our lives. The end.

In all actuality, while that may sound depressing, it is the truth! There will always be laundry!! 🙂 Over the last year or so, I have been slowly switching out chemical laden products for more natural alternatives. After buying some essential oils, I was hooked and haven’t looked back. I use Thieves laundry detergent which you can purchase here.

When you think about it, our clothes and sheets come in contact with us all of the time, so switching out your laundry detergent to a more natural one, can make a big difference. Look up whatever you are using on the Think Dirty App and see what it says! While I am very happy I have made the switch, if I’m being 100% honest, I do miss the strong scent of other laundry detergents, dryer sheets (I use wool dryer balls), etc. That is where this scent booster recipe comes into play!

So, I am a big scent person. I love smells, good ones (obviously), and really love this scent booster recipe to help whatever I’m washing, smell good!

DIY SCENT BOOSTER

EQUAL PARTS BAKING SODA & EPSOM SALT 
20-30 OILS OF YOUR CHOICE
PUT 1/4 CUP IN THE BASE OF YOUR WASHER BEFORE YOU START YOUR LOAD
  • epsom salt
  • baking soda
Mix equal parts epsom salt & baking soda
add your essential oils (list above)
  • I keep mine in this antique bell jar
  • 1/4 cup in the washer

For this batch, I did roughly 10 orange and rosemary; I can tell a definite difference when I use this, compared to when I don’t. I don’t use it for every single load of laundry I do, but for towels, blankets and sheets, its a must have now!
