Small Entryway Peg Rail & New Moravian Star Light
The last week I have been working on our small entryway. This space has been changed up SO many times over the years and I finally feel like it is complete!! Lets be real though- nothing in our home is safe with me around. I’m constantly switching things up BUT I really really really really(have I convinced you?) love the entryway now and don’t for-see any major changes anytime soon.

Small Entryway Peg Rail
The space behind this door has always stumped me- as you can see there is not much room. I’ve tried hanging different items on this wall but nothing quite looked right. A few weeks ago I thought about doing peg rail in this area, couldn’t get the idea out of my head, so one afternoon installed some. It’s the perfect affordable solution to making this blank wall feel like part of the entry without it taking up much space.
Peg rail is pretty simple to install as well as affordable which makes it very appealing. I purchased my peg rail from Hobby Lobby. It is the cheapest I’ve found- much cheaper than even Amazon- and is great quality. I bought two boards- cut one to the desired length and using my nail gun, attached them to the wall. Make sure to use a level while installing!
After filling in my nail holes with some putty and letting it dry, I sanded it down, painted the wood the same color as the wall and peg rail completed.
I do what I always do when decorating a new space- shop my home before going out and buying anything! This French market basket from my hallway peg rail , a macrame hanger with a cute plant I stole from Aubree’s bedroom, some bells I found at Target and this gorgeous stone watering pitcher I recently purchased. All items I already had on hand!
Moravian Star Light
I remember shortly after moving into this house I found an entryway light at Home Depot on sale for $35. Originally it was over $200. I was so excited. We were on a tight budget so I was pumped to find a good deal. (Actually tight budget or not, always pumped to find a good deal!!) We hired someone to install it and ever since it’s been hanging in our entry. For a long time I’ve wanted to replace it with something a little more my style now (my style has changed very much since then) that would go better with the rest of our home.
I’ve had my eye on a moravian star light for a long time and knew the entry would be the perfect place for one. You can buy this one here. It gives off such a pretty glow and is a much better size than the old one- the old one was much too big for this space.
Everything about this space makes me happy- the wallpapered drawers, my $10 thrifted Pottery Barn dupe looking lamp, the peg rail, the light- all of it.
